Traditional tattooing is what we’re known for at Mission Beach Tattoo, and it has been since we opened in 1997. Our artists also do a few other styles. Here’s what each artist specializes in.
American Traditional and Neo-Traditional
Bold outlines, strong shapes and rich color that hold up for decades. Think eagles, roses, snakes, daggers, skulls, hearts, ships, swallows, pin-ups and traditional lettering. Mike Santa Fe works in traditional and neo-traditional styles. Kyle and Dave Jr. both do traditional work too.
Polynesian and tribal
Kyle has been tattooing at the shop for almost ten years. Along with traditional, he does Polynesian tribal tattooing, with much of that work influenced by the patterns and tattoo traditions of Hawaii.
Japanese
Dave Jr. does intricate Japanese designs alongside his traditional work.
Black and grey
Smooth black and grey work is another one of Dave Jr.’s strengths.
Heavy, saturated color
If you want solid, packed color, Dave Jr. loves doing it, and it’s a big part of traditional tattooing in general.
